With regard to the publication of Let No One Enter: A Novel about Fort Bragg in the 1930s, I would like to acknowledge the following.
Mari Lynch of Fine Wordworking in Monterey, California assisted with the manuscript. In addition, Mari engaged in research to help ensure that the story was appropriately realistic for that period, even though fictitious. The results can be seen, for example, in the art included in this book’s pages.
The individuals and local institutions which assisted in Mari’s research are also appreciated. Special thanks to Dan Hess of the Fort Bragg Branch Library of the Mendocino County Library; Madeline Richards, Carol Naulty, Jaime Alexander, and Bruce Triplett of Fort Bragg High School, which granted permission to reuse art from the school’s 1932 and 1933 yearbooks, as well as my father’s 1937 yearbook photograph; the Fort Bragg – Mendocino Coast Historical Society; the Mendocino County Historical Society; and the newspaper archives of the Fort Bragg Advocate. Thank you also to Barbara McGuire for her kindness and local knowledge.
I sincerely appreciate the cooperation of all of these, and any others not named here, who have helped my father’s novel come to life.
—Glenn C. Reed
